What to Expect at your First Session
This session is about getting to know you and your concerns and goals for therapy so that together we are able to work out how best to assist you to move forward. Importantly, this session also an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about therapy and for you assess how comfortable you feel in this space. To ensure that we have enough time to do so, this session is usually 1 ½ hours long.
Before we start, you will be asked to read through and complete a few forms outlining your details and current concerns, and providing you with important information including confidentiality, rates, and our cancellation policy.
Should you feel that you would like to continue with psychotherapy following this session, we will schedule additional sessions to address your concerns. These sessions will usually be 1 hour.
Our practice operates primarily on a cash-at-consultation basis however we are also able to submit claims directly to medical aid schemes. A cash rate is offered while medical aid claims and hospital consultations are billed at your medical scheme rate. Clients paying cash will be provided with an invoice reflecting their payment and the details necessary to submit to their medical aid for reimbursement. Card facilities are available.
Please ensure that all cancellations are made at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled session will be charged a cancellation fee.
